"An Alabama man who was charged after a 4-year-old girl drowned in a Kissimmee resort pool last week did nothing to save her, Kissimmee police said in a report released Thursday.
Genesis Harper died June 7 at a pool in the Coral Cay Townhomes.
Police reviewed surveillance video from the pool that shows Elijah Darnell Morton, 28, just a feet away from Genesis as she splashed and struggled to stay above the water, Kissimmee Police spokeswoman Stacie Miller said.
Morton was 'focused on entertaining his own child while' Genesis struggled to save herself, the report said.
While Morton's girlfriend attempted CPR, Morton did not assist her and told her 'to stop and take the children back to the townhome,' Miller added. 'He made no attempts to help the child.'
A few minutes after Genesis went under, Morton noticed something at the bottom of the pool and attempted to nudge it with a pool noodle. Then he collected his children and directed them to leave the pool area, the report said.
Morton was charged with aggravated child neglect and released on a $2,500 bond."
Wow. We all take a
deep breath and wonder how in the world could Morton have just sat back and
done nothing to help little Genesis? But,
then again, when you examine our current American Abortion Holocaust, there
really isn't that much of a difference between Morton's apathy toward Genesis
and the apathy of the vast majority of Christians who completely ignore the
plight of the preborn every day in this country.
The attitude is the same:
Since there were no screams coming out of Genesis' mouth, Morton wasn't
the least bit concerned about the safety of that child. According to the
statement made after the surveillance video was viewed, the police reported
that Morton was "focused on entertaining his own children." Even after Genesis' lifeless body was pulled
out of the water, Morton didn't want to get involved in trying to resuscitate
her. That is extremely cold-hearted, and it exposes a serious void of minimal
compassion for a fellow human being.
I would like to pose this question to every Christian
reading this: If our secular government
has the moral compass to seek justice for the death of a child whose life could
have been saved by another person, how much more in God's judicial system that
we will all face one day will we be judged for all the lives that have been
brutally murdered in the womb that could have been saved if Christians were
actively obeying God's command to love their preborn neighbor? Will you be charged with "aggravated
child neglect" when Jesus returns?
Jesus said, in reference to His return to earth, "Inasmuch as you
did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do to Me. And these
will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal
life." (Matthew 25:45-46).
There are dozens of babies who are scheduled to be
murdered within close proximity of your home and your church. You won't be able to tell Jesus you didn't
know about the least of these who are being murdered. It's time to boldly bring the light of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ into conflict with the culture's apathy, indifference
and violence against the preborn. It's time to abolish human abortion.
